Insomnia may hurt more than just your concentration

According to a recent study of data from the America Insomnia Study, people who can't sleep at night have a higher chance of injury than others.

The Huffington Post reported on the study, which found that people who experience other conditions on top of their insomnia, such as depression or migraine, may have an even greater risk of injury.

"This recent study found that nearly one-third of U.S. workers are sleeping less than six hours per night, significantly below the seven to eight hours nightly that is recommended. In addition to compromising health, performance, and quality of life, these latest results indicate that chronic insomnia also poses a safety risk," according to the news source.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention States that in 2008, nearly 50 million adults reported that insufficient sleep caused them to have difficulty focusing on things throughout the day. Depending on what job a person has, this inability to concentrate could be putting themselves and others a risk.
