Cherry juice may help those suffering from insomnia

For those having difficulty sleeping, a diet that contains an all natural herbal insomnia supplement may get a boost from drinking cherry juice regularly, as the fruit has been shown to help regulate sleep patterns.

Recent studies have suggested that the cherry fruit may be associated with many important health benefits, including anti-inflammatory effects and insomnia.

The main study regarding the sickness prevention benefits of cherries was conducted at Michigan State University (MSU), where researchers found that the natural chemicals found in sour cherries may be 10 times more effective than aspirin as an anti-inflammatory agent. Additional research has found that cherries contain higher natural levels of melatonin, the chemical that is associated with proper sleep regulation.

"Twenty cherries provide 25 milligrams of anthocyanins which help shut down the enzymes that cause tissue inflammation in the first place, so cherries can prevent and treat many kinds of pain," states Dr. Mauraleedharan Nair, one of the authors of the study.

The Mayo Clinic suggests ways to help correct the unhealthy sleeping patterns of insomnia, including exercising more regularly and proper nutrition. In addition to adding cherry juice to your diet, an all natural herbal insomnia supplement may also be beneficial.
