Older individuals are more likely to have sleep disorders

People who have trouble getting rest at night should consider taking an herbal insomnia supplement, as this may help them get to sleep. While people of any age can develop insomnia, as individuals get older, they are more likely to develop a sleep problem.
Recently, Mineral Daily News-Tribune spoke to Jerry Reedy, M.D, who practices at Central Illinois Allergy and Respiratory Services. According to the expert, the most common sleep disorder that elderly people develop is insomnia, which can manifest itself through not being able to fall asleep, an inability to stay asleep or waking up too early.
According to Reedy, this disorder may come with consequences.
"Long-term effects of insomnia are not as well understood [as short-term], but there are concerns that it might actually trigger psychiatric conditions such as depression and may be related to the development of heart disease and obesity," said Reedy, quoted by the news source.
FamilyDoctor.org recommends that older individuals avoid caffeine for eight hours before bedtime and try to exercise at least a little each day, since physical activity can help people sleep better.
