Don’t let commercial breaks go to waste

One of the many factors contributing to the obesity problem in the U.S. is the sedentary lifestyle that many Americans lead. For example, sitting behind a desk for eight hours a day and then coming home and watching television is not the best way to maintain a healthy weight. At the same time, it's understandable that a person just wants to relax after a long day at the office.
MSNBC recently spoke to nutritionist Joy Bauer who offered an interesting tip for TV lovers who want to stay fit.
"Take advantage of those spare moments while watching your favorite shows – ump up off the couch and fill them with exercise. Take your pick: you can march or jog in place, do crunches, add extra jumping jacks," said Bauer, quoted by the news source.
Bauer added that in a 2-minute commercial break, a person can burn up to 20 calories. During an hour-long program, this can really add up.
Individuals who are overweight may want to consider taking an herbal diet supplement. There is a growing need for these in the U.S., especially since the The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that about one third of Americans are obese.
